Illinois Gun Violence Prevention Coalition
#OurOneJob is to keep all kids safe.
Governor Rauner has vetoed the Gun Dealer Licensing Act (SB1657). It’s now up to your state legislators to override the veto.
Any child killed from gun violence impacts every parent. Sadly, injuries from gun violence are the leading cause of death for children in Illinois. When guns get into the hands of the wrong people, they destroy communities and families. We demand a statewide response.
Right now, we can keep kids safe by overriding the Governor’s veto of the Gun Dealer Licensing Act (SB 1657); this legislation will reduce a major source of illegally trafficked guns from entering our communities in Illinois. 87% of Illinois voters support the safety measures in SB 1657 to save children’s lives. We need 100% to get involved.
If you agree that it’s all our job to keep kids safe from gun violence, join us. When parents and community members come together, things get done… and we expect our Governor to listen.

We gave Gov. Rauner an opportunity to keep illegal guns off the street and he vetoed it. Now it’s up to Illinois senators to override the veto. Will you call yours RIGHT NOW to pass Gun Dealer Licensing? https://t.co/icgm8B3j6s #OurOneJob #OverrideRauner #SB1657 pic.twitter.com/7KZqXYcUzL— ILGVP Coalition (@ilgvpcoalition) March 14, 2018
Gov Rauner’s veto of Gun Dealer Licensing proved that he stands with NRA, not us. Show Illinois you’ll stand up by calling your state senator to override the veto! https://t.co/icgm8B3j6s #NationalSchoolWalkout #SB1657 #OurOneJob pic.twitter.com/77upIkd9n8— ILGVP Coalition (@ilgvpcoalition) March 13, 2018
